MOLLY RATERMANN EARNS ISA TOP 25 SCREENWRITERS TO WATCH

Working with Molly Ratermann on multiple screenplays has been a joy. An Intuitive Writer herself, helping her craft her enormous tapestry of events in her script, The Cosmopolitan West, for example, was an adventure through the many forms meaning takes on in our screenplays. A love story at heart, The Cosmopolitan West speaks of the character's love as much as it does Molly's love of classic American Westerns. Yet, it's modern in how it reinvents the narrative of Westerns—seeing through the eyes of a female lead rather than the Clint Eastwood's of yesterday.
Love is a theme in Molly's work. Her screenplay The Ballad of Pearl Ballard reads like her love letter to the feminists of the '60s and '70s, and Priestly speaks to the tenderness possible within a small community and one specific and odd character among such—constantly reminding me of the feel-good vibes of a great episode of Mr. Bean.
It's a personal experience for me to work with all of you. So, it means a lot when you accomplish things like Molly has—making the ISA Top 25 Screenwriters to Watch for 2025. It is much deserved. Molly reminds us to have and hold a vision and to find those themes that run throughout our various stories—to ask ourselves, "Who am I as an artist?" Notice how we're concerned not only with the answer to this question regarding its functionality but also its meaning. Molly's work mentioned above encompasses two feature films and a pilot. One is a Western. One is a comedy—one is a dramedy. That is each of them in functionality. But in meaning, they are stories that make us feel love.
